  1. The option of Dark Mode based on either system based settings via Settings - Personalisation - Colours - Choose your default app mode or an option in CCH Software.

  2. We have few employees working from home and doing bookkeeping for us. They don’t have access to CCH. Now we want them to punch the timesheet as well on weekly basis. We want to do this by importing and exporting the timesheets on CCH. So, by this we have up to date timesheet for all of the clients and can create the invoices more accurately.

  3. It should not be possible to send out £0 bills (write offs) to clients or at the very least there should be a setting that can be ticked to disallow this.
    Currently you have to rely on Accountants changing the method at stage 3 to Post and not email to prevent them being sent out but the Accountants don't actually send the bills so they don't pay much attention and can't be trusted to do this! There's also a big risk of human error here and on a number of occasions £0 bills have been sent out and we've had…

  4. Introduce the ability to select several bills and change the posting date in bulk. It is currently only possible to do this for one bill at a time but when you are sending thousands of bills each month and approvals aren't done immediately you might need to update the date on hundreds at a time which just isn't possible with the manual way it currently has to be done

  5. Introduce the ability to have more than one accounts payable contact against a client.
    We have a large number of clients where a Director will want to receive copies of bills but also wants copies of bills to be sent to their accounts payable department. This has been possible in alternative software's that we have looked at

  6. We have a lot of sales invoices that change each month/quarter, it would be very useful to be able to import our sales invoices into CCH by csv in a similar way to the Xero sales import process.

  7. Expense attachments should be downloadable/exportable from CCH.
    When an employee attaches receipts to their expense claims, you should be able to press 'Export' in the ribbon and it export both the spreadsheet of details and all of the linked attachments. We need this in order to upload the information to our financial management system

  8. Could we have a "Working Notes" Area like we do in Personal Tax for users to enter notes alongside the data entry - file notes only, not to appear on the comp.

  9. I would like to be able to set up an assignment which has specific jobs attached to it so when it is added to a client, the jobs automaically add.
    For example, every client has an admin assignment to which we always add 3 specific jobs. It would make the client set up process simpler if i could add the jobs to the assignment template so they add in automatically.

  11. I built a smart report which showed the client, assignment name and the total hours for the assignment.
    I then wanted to filter it by the Employee Dept.
    The I needed to exclude a couple of departments, when i added the syntax for not including the two assignments it then dropped the filter for the Employee Dept.
    When I spoke to CCH the only way round this was to exclude an assignment in the Assignment code and then the other in the assignment name.

    It would be good if we can have multiple filters on a report where we can…

  12. It would be useful to have a data field in the main client record for the CGT reporting reference in the same location as the UTR on a client record. It would then also be useful for this reference to be able to be pulled through the the CGT screen.

    At the minute we are having to save this in the DMS so we have access to it where we are engaged to do CGT reporting for a client but it would be useful to have this in a field which is easy for us to access as and when…

  13. It would be useful to have a data field in the main client record near the UTR field for the Trust URN for non taxable Trusts. At present we are saving documents with this info on into the permanent assignment but it should really have a field of it's own to make it easily accessible to us where we are engaged with clients to update TRS for non-taxable trusts.

  14. When raising an invoice and using the 'estimate to complete' option, please can any jobs that have been closed be removed from the list? For example, we have an assignment called 'Monthly Accounts' and then there is a job under this assignment for every month of the year. We are over a year into using CCH and the list of every job is getting longer! in 4 years time, we are going to have to scroll through 4 years of monthly jobs when raising an 'estimate to complete' on an invoice which is not very user friendly!

  15. It would be extremely useful to clients to show the property losses brought forward and carried forward within the schedules to the tax return in the property income section.

  16. Could an "Author" tab be included as a field in the Document centre. This causes us issues after an email has been filed, as it only shows the client partner but not who the author is, so when trying to find an email it makes it harder to find, as you have to open up each email just to see who it was sent by. We have tried using the "From" tab, but this still doesn't show the correct information we after.

Where prior year figures need to be manually entered or overridden in regards to adjustments for averaging (due to information not being in CCH or CCH picking up the wrong figures) the averaging adjustment is not calculated correctly. Original tax position and revised tax position figures don’t agree back to prior year figures or manually calculated figures.

    Also for Farmers Averaging there is currently no link between the figures calculated in CCH and the relevant tax return boxes. It would be useful for boxes 14 and 15 on the ‘Tax payments / repayments’ section to be populated with the relevant…

  18. The annual allowance tracker in the pension savings tax charges tab does not take into account entries in the pension contributions tab in the 'amount saved' box. You therefore have to enter the amount of the contribution in both the pension contributions tab and the pension savings tax charges tab. It would be useful if the annual allowance tracker was updated when posting pension contributions.

  19. It would be useful to be able to enter expenses for a property for comparative purposes and then be able to choose between the actual expenses and the £1k property income allowance.

    Additionally, it is not possible to enter unused finance costs brought forward into the software when you are claiming the property allowance. Where we are claiming the property allowance and carrying forward unused finance costs, we therefore have to make a manual note of the amounts to carry forward. We should be able to record this in the relevant box to carry forward to the next tax year.

  20. It would be useful for the software to restrict the foreign tax entered down to the treaty rate. At present there is no restriction applied by the software so you have to manually restrict in order to get the correct result.
