Working Notes (like in Personal Tax)
Could we have a "Working Notes" Area like we do in Personal Tax for users to enter notes alongside the data entry - file notes only, not to appear on the comp.

It is difficult to distinguish who has made which working notes and when they were made, as the author and date are overwritten if someone edits the note. It would be useful to have separate boxes for the original author notes and then the notes added by the reviewer.
Additionally, any working notes related to a particular source are deleted if you delete that source of income. This is not helpful where, for instance, you have added a note to record why that particular source has been deleted etc. It would be good to be able to keep all of the notes added in the working notes section regardless of which data entry tab they are related to.

Working notes made in business tax pages do not pull through onto Return Review so there is no way for the reviewer to see the working notes in Return Review. Working notes can only be seen in the data entry pages.

i was just about to make the same suggestion, its not all clear when a note has been added, you really to look for it. Even making the text where the 'add a note' option is, is the same colour. Making this red when a note is added would help.
something like a tick in the tax return data field when a working note is added would be ideal -

I know my firm would find this very useful as we get concerned that information is received/known for the following years Tax Return but gets 'lost' in DM. So adding a note to the working notes and know it is flagged up would be useful, or at least have a schedule of working notes to print each time.
Maybe a pop up box advising you there are working notes - do you wish to view/print.As an alternative - the working notes button has a green tick on it on the ribbon. This gives the impression there is a note, could this be changed so if there is no tick then there are no notes, but if there is a tick you know there are working notes for that client and year. It owuld then be immediately obvious of notes.

Yes, the fact that notes have been attached and need to be reviewed the following year should really appear in the errors / exceptions screen so it is not missed.

Hi Andy
Many thanks for your suggestion. As you will be aware the folder icon which appears to indicate the presence of notes appears regardless of whether the note is a working note or a disclosure note. Therefore the only option would be to put a total for the notes. This is something that I will look into to investigate if it is possible to update this screen to display the number of notes.

It would be helpful if it was more obvious that Working Notes had been added, such as the number of notes appearing to the right hand of the link. I think this would stand out more than the little folder icon.
