    I know my firm would find this very useful as we get concerned that information is received/known for the following years Tax Return but gets 'lost' in DM. So adding a note to the working notes and know it is flagged up would be useful, or at least have a schedule of working notes to print each time.
    Maybe a pop up box advising you there are working notes - do you wish to view/print.

    As an alternative - the working notes button has a green tick on it on the ribbon. This gives the impression there is a note, could this be changed so if there is no tick then there are no notes, but if there is a tick you know there are working notes for that client and year. It owuld then be immediately obvious of notes.
