  1. Lead schedules that aren’t standard not pulling through, how do you pull them into workpapers? For example, debtors due in more than one year we have also seen investments schedules not pulling though previously.

    As a temporary solution we have to PDF the lead schedules from the financial statements section and upload this to work papers, but this defeats the object of the live lead schedules if the figures change.

  2. When finalising a year in accounts production the system locks the working papers so they can no longer be edited. However the document in working papers is linking to the document stored in the document centre which does not prevent edits being made to that document within here. Therefore the finalisation button and locking the working papers in accounts production is flawed. What would be good is that when finalising the documents are also automatically locked at the other end in the document centre at the same time so that you can view these as read only or be forced…

  3. When trying to preview and print and entire set of working papers all pages appear in a portrait format, even if they are a landscape document in the working papers originally. For example the Fixed Asset Register report from CCH itself prints in a landscape orientation but when this is included in the working papers full preview, the edges of the document are cut off and your not able to view all the information. There is no function to then turn the page orientation either.

  5. Make it possible to sign off non-previewable documents such as CSV files within working papers by either just allowing signoff (i.e. prepared by role) - you can't import a XLS/XLSX file into AP only CSV so we want to be able to store the "source" import file in WP but at the moment you can't preview it as CSV aren't supported, there is now way to check it out to open it externally in the default application or sign the file off. I don't really care how you render a CSV, a spreadsheet would be nice clearly but if you…

  6. It would be really beneficial to be able to select an assignment/job from the accounts production/working papers side so when these pull into Document Management everthing is organised in the correct place.

  8. We have a number of charities which there is no option to attach a working papers template and says it is not supported, would be helpful if this was put into development so we can store files all in the same place.
    We also have an enity for trusts which we adapted from a partnership entity to match the layout required, this has the same issue of not supporting working papers so if there was a way to manually bring in a working paper template it would save having different filing sources.

  9. We have been trying to create a master pack template for everyone to use. One of the main templates that we usually use and would like to bring in is macro-enabled but this is not supported in Working Papers currently.

  10. The "Activate Working Papers WP" Icon should be a tasked permission and not availabler to everyone to activate as once it is activated, it cannot be reversed.

  11. Working papers can be edited once it has been approved by a manager/partner. It would be beneficial to "lock" the file to prevent editing after approval, or once it has been approved, requiring a separate "document release" button within the WP screen that then allows editing but then requires the file to be approved once more.   12. Documents e.g. excel working papers or client info should be able to have a tick to roll forward on year-end like notes do.
    It is a pain to have to go back through DM to re-add last year's papers.

  13. Once a period has been finalised, everything gets locked down (which is good), however this extends to the viewing controls in Working Papers.
    The entire pdf/excel/word viewer is locked down, rather than just the "edit" button. (Seems like lazy software development to me).

    This is then frustrating to review prior period documents for reference, as you can't even zoom in on them etc. I agree, buttons such as edit and checking out etc should be disabled, but the zoom controls and viewing the document shouldn't be locked down.
    An extremely poor oversight for UX.

  14. If you create a link on a schedule such as Administrative Expenses, it creates a link on every single item on the page, as it is attaching the link to the range, rather than the line item you clicked to link.
    This is extremely frustrating, when trying to justify where multiple figures on a document have come from and they're all pointing at the same thing.

    Again, a poor oversight on UX that is impacting us daily, and I'm sure many others.

  15. It would be incredible helpful to be able sign off/review more than one document at a time. The signing off of documents individually is one of the most time consuming aspects of reviewing a file on CCH working papers.

  16. The ability to check in all documents you have had checked out during the day would be fantastic.

    This would add so much ease rather than having to go back through and remember which were checked out throughout the day which can be extremely time consuming.

  17. It would be helpful if the working papers module allowed you to drag and drop working papers rather than having to use the 'move up/down' buttons. It would also be useful if we could highlight multiple papers at once and move in bulk. Additionally, if the software allowed us to mark several working papers as 'prepared' in one go, this would save a lot of time. Many thanks

  19. Proper ordered management of all the various documents supplied by clients would greatly help the review stage of a Tax Return - especially for those staff who had not prepared the Return. Tailored sections (to suit each firm/practice) for keeping standard WP files for all clients would make life much easier - as with CCH Audit Automation (ProAudit) and CCH Working Papers Management for Accounts Production.     We have a very exciting project in the early stages of development right now that we think will revolutionise the collation of documents for personal tax.

    Within that functionality will be concise document management to simplify the review process.
