  1. It would be better where the SA302 shows a tax refund for that figure to be in brackets to distinguish it from tax underpaid and to match the format of the figure for total tax due at the end of the document

  2. It would be helpful if the three new boxes 6.1 in the SA800 relating to the export of goods and services could be opened fully so that all three boxes can be unticked rather than defaulting to neither as this means they are not exporting.
The reporting of exporting goods and services is optional as per the SA850 guide and therefore there will be cases we do not wish to report this on. (most cases probably)

  3. Although CCH PT will calculate the AA taper via the pensions tax charge entry, if an entry is made the Ai pages are generated with nothing on them. Often we wish to just track the AA and there is no charge to report.
Can a fully functional AA calculator be introduced? We used Digita before CCH and they had a great tool that would work out the AA/taper/charges, etc.
Also assisted with planning without having to keep separate records.

  4. It would be useful to be able to report from the Online Filing section of CCH Personal tax. We would be looking to report examples such as IRMarks, whether the return is an original, amendment 1, amendment 2 etc.

  5. Partnerships - Foreign Tax on Foreign Dividends - the income pulls onto the individual partners returns but the FTC does not, it then has to be added manually to the individuals return. This really should be pulling through

  6. It is a bit long winded to end up with a copy of the DTA or the submission report in DM when using personal tax. There is the option when either are open to create a PDF, open in word, print etc and it would be great if there was another option to file in the document centre. At the moment you have to go through several steps to get a copy into DM which seems not necessary as you are in CCH when you open it.

  7. I understand that it is not possible for you to restrict foreign tax according to the Double Taxation Treaties. However, a warning to remind us to check if a restriction is necessary would be helpful.

  8. It would be really helpful if we could keep actual expense details on self employments or property for both us and our clients to compare to the TAPAs claim, especially as it is quite common fo clients to remember additional expenses after sending their initial information to us.

Under review  ·  Dean Shepherd responded

    Hi Clare

If we built in some business rules you could probably do that in Accounts Production but that seems a bit overkill for what is likely to be a very simple case.

Are you likely to be providing this type of client with a P&L? Or is it just a matter of putting figures into the tax return only?

    Kind regards,

    Dean

  9. It would be massively useful to all practices to have a simple report/document that compares the Tax Return data to the last year so you can have an at-a-glance comparative. This will allow an effective review once the Return is completed, as well as helping to complete the preparation.

We currently keep track of all of the above on a paper template and I had hoped to use Return Review as a digital alternative, however I do not believe it is as useful as we hoped.

Return Review does what we need in part, but much of what is produced…
