Direct filing to Companies House for Charity Accounts

I have had confirmation from Companies House iXBRL department that electronic filing of Incorporated Charity accounts is now possible. We have a high proportion of Charity clients and would like to take advantage of this.

When will this functionality be added to Review and Tag?

Thanks for getting in touch.

I believe we already have the ability to fully tag an incorporated charity using the correct taxonomy so I am not sure why we would not be able to electronically file the accounts.

I will do some investigations and get back to you.

    Hi Colin

    I have spoken to our iXBRL guru and his response was as follows:

    "The tagging of the formats with the CHAR-102 taxonomy, which can now be accepted by Companies House, would be a big undertaking as the taxonomy and formats have a lot of activities to take into account that do not exist in other formats."

    I was hoping it would be a small piece of work to activate but apparently not.

    In my own practice I would always refer any charity work on to John so I appreciate this has a big impact on your firm. If we can generate wider interest for this on UserVoice then I will have a compelling argument for bringing it higher up the agenda.
